I’ve decided to take up the 20 Days of WoW Blogging Challenge by Saga of Spellbound to commemorate my 3 month anniversary at the end of January. I also figured it would be a good way to get the writing juices flowing and generate some content between the usual gold making posts. On with the show!
[notice]I’ve since had to update the picture with a newer picture since I lost the old one. Same basic idea, but some of the details might not totally line up[/notice]
See that ladies and gentlemen? That there, is my current “working” environment. Pretty snazzy eh? Mind you this is the tidy version, I usually operate with a bit more clutter than this (all the clutter is conveniently out of frame in this shot).
The desk is a common Ikea desk that serves it’s purpose well, though it gets easily crowded, and even completely tidy the keyboard and second monitor take up so much room there isn’t much desk space to do writing work on it. On the various shelves you’ll see various knick-knacks, barely used textbooks (alright, so I barely use any of them, so sue me), stacks of office supplies, and my printer.
Not appearing in the picture is my small filling cabinet tucked away to the left of the desk, with a lamp sitting on it. Also not appear (besides a jumble of wires expertly hidden) are the speakers tucked away behind the main monitor (the monitor is too large to fit into it’s nook, so I have to use that dead space for something).
My computer is a custom built rig, and since I don’t have much else to talk about in this post and so much of my work and play is done on it, I figure I’d detail the specs:
- Quad Core 2.66 GHz CPU
- 8GB DDR2 @800MHz
- nVidia GTX 560 Ti
- 2 x 7200 RPM 750 GB HDD in RAID 0
- 30 Mb/s (down) cable connection
- Razer Naga Mouse, Zboard keyboard
Unfortunately to upgrade my RAM or CPU it looks like I’ll have to upgrade the RAM, CPU, and motherboard at the same time, so I’m holding off to make that purchase.
